Everything you need to know about envelopes

Latex

Latex, a rubber-based material, is used to create a self-seal envelope, with a layer being applied on both the flap and reverse of the envelope. The easiest and quickest way to seal an envelope, it has the disadvantage that as a natural material, latex will deteriorate over time. The guaranteed shelf life for a self-seal envelope just 6 months, but in the right conditions it will keep for longer. (See also gummed, self-seal, peel & seal, and re-sealable.)
